En 1962, Airborne produit avec la société anglaise Hille une chaise en plastique, simple et bon marché, dessinée par Robin Day : la Polyprop.
Ce modèle est avant tout destiné aux collectivités et fabriqué selon une nouvelle technologie, le polypropylène injecté.
Elle équipera toutes les universités, les cantines, les premières stations d'autoroute...
En 1963 la division Plan System réalise l'aménagement du nouveau siège social d'EDF à Asnières (une architecture de Henri Delacroix).
En 1968, la Polyprop occupera même les gradins des stades olympiques de Mexico.
Airborne en produit 3000 exemplaires par mois soit plus de 600 000 chaises au total. Elle est produite par différentes filiales, un moule unique se déplaçant pour fabriquer sur place un maximum de chaises en un minimum du temps.
